White Chocolate and Orange Snickerdoodles

Who loved creamsicles as a kid? This recipe takes you back to that sweet, creamy and citrusy flavor of your youth. Decadent white chocolate, vanilla, and cinnamon sugar play nice with tangy orange zest for a bite of bliss. Snickerdoodles aren’t just fun to say, they taste delicious and are perfect for kids and grownups too.

  • Ingredients

    Snickerdoodle
    Wesson Canola Oil 1/2 cup.
    Sugar, White 3/4 cup.
    Brown Sugar 1/4 cup.
    Eggs, large 1 ct.
    Egg Yolk 1 ct.
    Vanilla Extract 1 tbsp.
    Baking Soda 1 tsp.
    Cream of Tartar 1 tsp.
    Kosher Salt 1/2 tsp.
    Cinnamon, ground 1 tsp.
    AP Flour 2 cups.
    Orange Zest 2 tsp.
    Orange Juice 2 tbsp.
    White Chocolate Chips 1/2 cup.
    Cinnamon Sugar
    Sugar, white 1/2 cup.
    Cinnamon 1 tbsp.

    Method

    Snickerdoodle

    Pre-heat oven to 325F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, egg yolk, vanilla extract, orange juice, and orange zest.

    In a large bowl, combine Wesson Canola Oil, white sugar, and brown sugar. Add egg mixture and whisk until properly incorporated. 

    In a large bowl, combine baking soda, cream of tartar, kosher salt, cinnamon, and flour. Sift and add dry mixture into the wet mixture in two additions, adding the white chocolate chips halfway.

    Cinnamon Sugar

    Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.

    Assembly Method
    Roll 2 Tbsp portions of dough between palms, then lightly flatten and roll in cinnamon sugar to coat. Add to a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 13 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
