  • milk (optional)
  • Ingredients

    Drizzle
    Powdered sugar 1/2 cup.
    Water or milk 1 tbsp.
    Pure vanilla extract 1/2 tsp.
    Bananarama Pops
    Bananas 6 firm.
Wesson Canola Oil 10 cups (for frying).
    Cake flour 1 cup.
    Cornstarch 1/3 cup.
    Baking powder 2 tsp.
    Granulated sugar 2 tsp.
    Cinnamon 1 tsp.
    Water (ice cold) 1 cup.
    Pure vanilla extract 1/2 tsp.
Sugar cereal 2 cups, coarsely crushed.
    Wooden sticks, 5-6" as needed.

    Method

    Drizzle

To make drizzle, combine powdered sugar, water or milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside.

    Bananarama Pops

Peel bananas and insert a 5″-6″ stick in one end, leaving about 3″ of the stick as a handle.

Lay the bananas on a parchment lined baking sheet and freeze for 1 hour.

    Assembly Method

When ready to serve, preheat Wesson Canola Oil to 375°F.

In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, sugar and cinnamon until smooth.

In another bowl, whisk together water and vanilla. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and whisk until a smooth batter is formed.

Put cereal on a large large plate. Dip a banana in the batter, gently shaking off any excess. Roll the banana in cereal (crushed if larger flakes) and fry in hot oil for 1-2 minutes or until lightly golden and crisp.

    Drizzle with glaze and enjoy!
